The PC-9801 DX is a computer released as part of the PC-9800 series.

Hardware

The PC-9801 DX is 80286 machine, it is the first to break with NEC's odd tradition of releasing different 3½-inch and 5¼-inch lines; The PC-9801 DX has "U variants" that have built in 3½-inch floppy disk drives, and all models include charasteristics of the older "U line" of computers, most apparently in the built in Sound Board. The PC-9801 DX is also the first machine to remove the secondary V30 processor.
