The PC-9801-26K is a "sound board" for PC-9800 series computers. It is a revision of the PC-9801-26 allowing for compatibility with 80286 processors, and like its predecessor, used the FM synthesizer Yamaha YM2203. Later computers would ship with this functionality built-in.
Alongside its audio functionalities, the PC-9801-26K provided two DE-9 ports for joysticks[2][3]
