The PC-9801 FC is a localised version of the PC-9801 F for the Chinese market. It, and the localized version of the PC-100, were the last of a long line of NEC PCs that made their way to China to be used in a university context or to be sold in the general market. In documentation, the PC-9801 FC was also called either the JH-3000B[1] or the ZD-3000[2].

Hardware
Due to it being designed for a Chinese market in mind, The PC-9801 FC has many differences with its Japanese counterpart. The two most important are its "Kanji" ROM Board and its power supply; the PC-9801 FC is the only model of the PC-9800 series that uses 220V instead of the usual 100V.
Due to the differences between Hanzi and Kanji, and also the difference between their encoding, the PC-9801 FC has its own font and "Kanji" ROM board and even its own keyboard; a HZK16 font and GB2312 character encoding.
