The PC-8801 MC is the last computer released in the PC-8800 series range.

Hardware
The PC-8801 MC is notable for two reasons - it is the first computer by NEC to opt for the vertical "tower" design more commonplace today, and the only PC-8800 series computer to ship with a CD-ROM drive (although a cheaper MC model still lacked one). The CD drive is identical to a CD-ROM² unit, just with a different name.
