The Japanese version displays a screen after the intro that recaps the events of Valis I and II. The North American version removes the text, leaving only the pictures.

In addition to the altered copyright and publisher information as well as the added ™ symbol, the colour of the "PUSH RUN BUTTON" text was changed from grey to yellow.
