Sega (セガ) is a multinational video game company based in Japan. Sega was associated with NEC in a variety of ways-NEC manufactured some of the parts in Sega's systems and NEC Avenue struck a deal with Sega that allowed the former to produce PC Engine versions of Sega's arcade games. Toshio Tabeta, the employee responsible for the deal, later learned that the Sega employee that allowed the deal was scolded.[1]

Two other NEC divisions, NEC Interchannel and NEC Home Electronics, produced and published games for a few of Sega's CD-based platforms. NEC Interchannel published Sega Saturn and Dreamcast games while NEC Home Electronics only published Dreamcast games.
