Youkai Douchuuki (妖怪道中記) is a side-scrolling action game originally released by Namco for its System 1 (then known as System 87) arcade hardware in 1987. The following year it was ported to the PC Engine. It is commonly known as Shadow Land overseas, although this version of the game was not officially released outside of Japan.
Youkai Douchuuki was both Namco's first 16-bit arcade game and its first release on the PC Engine platform (and by extension, the first third-party game released for the system).
