While most other Super CD-ROM² games would display a non-playable error screen if the wrong System Card was used, Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo instead loads a playable joke mini-game known as "Akumajyo Dracula Peke" (あくまぢょお どらきゅら ぺけ) if it detects the wrong System Card.

The player controls a cartoonish Richter Belmont and defeats purple creatures with the Vampire Killer, and is then greeted by a cartoonish Maria Renard and a message instructing the player to reset the game and insert the Super System Card. The track "Op.13" plays throughout this mini-game.

In the Wii Virtual Console release, this mini-game can be accessed by resetting the game via the HOME Menu while holding +1+2 on a Wii Remote or +A+B on a Classic Controller.
