An IGS logo is displayed when powering on the system in the PC Engine version. The TurboGrafx-16 version removes this screen and jumps straight to the title when powering on. This renders the jingle that plays on the screen unused and thus can only be heard in the sound test.

Pressing ← or → on the title screen will display "New Game" and "Continue" options in the PC Engine version. In the TurboGrafx-16 version, these options only appear after a Game Over, providing there are continues remaining.

The opening sequence at the beginning was reworded for the TurboGrafx-16 release, and the first paragraph that mentions the year the game is set in and the existence of the enemy threat was removed. Consequently, the main character's transformation occurs when the second paragraph appears.
Additionally, his name was changed from Mellange Kato to Rad Ralph for the TurboGrafx-16 release.
