+ | PAGENAME, known as PC Genjin 2 (PC原人2) in Japan, is a platform action game developed by Red for the PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16, and a direct sequel to Bonk's Adventure.
+ | |||
+ | ==Story== | ||
+ | Evil King Drool III, grandson of the original King Drool from Bonk's Adventure, is out for Bonk, and has captured the missing half of the moon. Bonk must defeat him and return the top half of the moon back to its rightful place.
+ | |||
+ | ==Gameplay== | ||
+ | Bonk's Revenge follows the same platform gameplay as its predecessor in which Bonk progresses between levels and fights enemies with his head. The controls are the same in that the D-Pad moves Bonk left and right, I makes Bonk jump, and II will make Bonk perform a headbutt on the ground, while II in mid-air makes Bonk peform a dive-bombing attack or spin in the air to slow his descent when pressed repeatedly. Walls can be climbed by jumping towards them and repeatedly pressing I. Bonk can power himself up with meat to increase his attack power and abilities in the same way as the previous game, however this time his third power level replaces his ground headbutt with a fire-breathing attack. When Bonk runs out of health, he can be revived on the spot by pressing Run after he falls unconscious, providing the player has extra lives remaining.
+ | |||
+ | After defeating the boss at the end of a round, Bonk will be able to board the Monster Train if he has collected enough Smiley Faces, with the quality and length of the train increasing the more Smiley Faces Bonk has found. These trains are occupied by friendly dinosaurs that will reward Bonk with different bonus items depending on their colour, such as lives and extra hearts.
+ | |||
+ | Bonk's Revenge offers three difficulty modes which the player can choose from at the beginning of the game, each one giving the player different starting hearts but only allowing them to play up to a specific round, with the game ending and returning the player to the mode select screen, encouraging them to start again at a higher difficulty level. The available difficulty levels are as follows:
+ | |||
+ | *Practice: Bonk starts with 8 hearts, and only the first round can be played.
+ | *Intermediate: Bonk starts with 5 hearts, and the game ends after the fourth round.
+ | *Expert: Bonk starts with 3 hearts, and the full game can be played.

+ | ==History== | ||
+ | ===Legacy=== | ||
+ | Bonk's Revenge would see various re-releases much like its predecessor, such as being included with its predecessor and Gate of Thunder on the 3-in-1 CD. Hudson Soft later released the game on the Wii Virtual Console in 2007, while Konami would later re-release the game on the Wii U Virtual Console and Windows Store, as well as including the TurboGrafx-16 version of the game (in English only) on all regional variants of the PC Engine mini.

Bonk's Revenge, known as PC Genjin 2 (PC原人2) in Japan, is a platform action game developed by Red for the PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16, and a direct sequel to Bonk's Adventure.

Story
Evil King Drool III, grandson of the original King Drool from Bonk's Adventure, is out for Bonk, and has captured the missing half of the moon. Bonk must defeat him and return the top half of the moon back to its rightful place.
Gameplay
Bonk's Revenge follows the same platform gameplay as its predecessor in which Bonk progresses between levels and fights enemies with his head. The controls are the same in that the D-Pad moves Bonk left and right, Ⅰ makes Bonk jump, and Ⅱ will make Bonk perform a headbutt on the ground, while Ⅱ in mid-air makes Bonk peform a dive-bombing attack or spin in the air to slow his descent when pressed repeatedly. Walls can be climbed by jumping towards them and repeatedly pressing Ⅰ.
After defeating the boss at the end of a round, Bonk will be able to board the Monster Train if he has collected enough Smiley Faces, with the quality and length of the train increasing the more Smiley Faces Bonk has found. These trains are occupied by friendly dinosaurs that will reward Bonk with different bonus items depending on their colour, such as lives and extra hearts.
Bonk's Revenge offers three difficulty modes which the player can choose from at the beginning of the game, each one giving the player different starting hearts but only allowing them to play up to a specific round, with the game ending and returning the player to the mode select screen, encouraging them to start again at a higher difficulty level. The available difficulty levels are as follows:
- Practice: Bonk starts with 8 hearts, and only the first round can be played.
- Intermediate: Bonk starts with 5 hearts, and the game ends after the fourth round.
- Expert: Bonk starts with 3 hearts, and the full game can be played.

History
Legacy
Bonk's Revenge would see various re-releases much like its predecessor, such as being included with its predecessor and Gate of Thunder on the TurboDuo 3-in-1 CD. Hudson Soft later released the game on the Wii Virtual Console in 2007, while Konami would later re-release the game on the Wii U Virtual Console and Windows Store, as well as including the TurboGrafx-16 version of the game (in English only) on all regional variants of the PC Engine mini.
