This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.
The TurboBooster is an add-on to the TurboGrafx-16 allowing the console to be hooked up to composite cables, which in turn lead to a better picture and stereo audio, as opposed to the RF image and monaural sound offered by default.
The add-on is a large device (mainly for the sake of aesthetics - its electronic internals are small) designed to be connected to the rear expansion port of a TurboGrafx-16. This brings some disadvantages, such as the ability to hook up a TurboGrafx-CD or similar rear-end devices at the same time (although the TurboGrafx-CD also offered a composite option).
The TurboBooster was replaced by the TurboBooster-Plus, which also allows games to be saved.
