This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.
The TK-80BS (μCOM Basic Station TK-80BS) is an expansion unit for the TK-80 and TK-80E. The release of the TK-80BS marked a change in NEC direction with the μCOM boards, changing it from being a training kit to showcase their microprocessors to a personal computer, culminating in the release of the COMPO-BS/80.
Hardware
The TK-80BS is an expansion unit made up of a keyboard and a board that includes extra RAM, ROM, and a TV and cassette interface.
The biggest addition that came with the TK-80BS was the ability to create and run BASIC programs on it, thanks to the built in Tiny BASIC in the extra ROM. This makes the TK-80BS, with a TK-80/E board, the first NEC system that had video game releases for it.
Technical Specifications
- RAM: 5K
- ROM: 8K
