Klax (クラックス) is a 1990 puzzle game released for arcades by Atari Games. The game saw numerous ports to home computers and consoles, either by Tengen or other companies under license from Tengen. In the case of NEC systems, Tengen ported the game to the PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16, while Hudson Soft ported the game to PC-8801 and PC-9801 VM computers under a license, all released within the same year.

Gameplay

The objective of Klax is to catch the tiles that roll end-over-end along the conveyor belt with the paddle, then stack them in the "bin" below to line up three of the same color vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Doing so will clear the tiles from the bin, which is called a "KLAX", and score points. Lining up four or five in a row counts as 2 KLAXs and 3 KLAXs respectively.
