Infinite continues
On the title screen, press ↑ ↓ ↑ ↓ → ← Ⅱ Ⅰ. There will be no sound confirmation, but the number of continues can now be set to infinite by pressing Ⅰ until the continue counter displays "∞" in the options menu (press SELECT on the title screen to access the menu)[1].
