Misty (franchise)

The Misty franchise is a series of seven graphic adventure games developed and published by Data West. Initially released in 1989 for the PC-8801, PC-9801, and other Japanese home computers, the series spans seven volumes (each containing five individual scenarios) and places players in the role of private detective Kamishiro Ryu.^[1]

A distinctive feature of the Misty series is its points-based investigation system. Players begin each scenario with a set number of points, which are deducted with each action taken, such as moving to different locations or gathering information.
