Championship mode + play as Salamander
In the Option menu, press ↑ ↓ ← → ← → Ⅰ Ⅱ Ⅰ Ⅱ. This will instantly unlock Championship mode, replacing Tournament mode. This will also allow Salamander to be selected as a playable fighter in any mode except Group Match mode by holding SELECT while navigating past Chaos or Mahambah[1].
Reset clear status
In the Option menu, press ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → Ⅱ Ⅰ (the Konami code). This will reset progress back to before the game was cleared[1].
Brighten title screen background
In the Option menu, press SELECT five times. This will make the title screen background brighter[1].
View endings
This requires a PC Engine Senyou Multi Tap. Just before a match starts in Tournament or Championship mode, hold ↑+Ⅱ on Pad 2, Ⅰ+ SELECT on Pad 3, and Ⅱ+ RUN on Pad 5 before the match intro screen fades out to view the ending for the selected character[2].
Have the CPU take over in Group Match
This requires a PC Engine Senyou Multi Tap. Just before a match starts in Group Match mode, hold Ⅰ+Ⅱ+ RUN on Pad 1 and Ⅰ+ SELECT on Pad 3 before the match intro screen fades out to have the CPU take over for both players[3].
