This requires an emulator or, if playing on real hardware, a Pad that has been disassembled or modified to allow pressing ← and → simultaneously. Hold ↑+←+→ when booting the game through the CD-ROM² boot ROM, and the screen should stay black. During this state, press Ⅰ and Ⅱ to increase or decrease a hidden value respectively, which should be represented by the screen changing colour, and press  RUN  to play the cutscene associated with the selected value.

Only cutscenes 0 through 26 are viewable through this feature - attempting to play any cutscene number higher than 26 will crash the game. When a cutscene finishes playing, hold ↑+←+→ to return to the cutscene viewer screen, otherwise the game will begin from the first chapter.
