Invincibility

Pause the game and press the following depending on version:

  • PC Engine version: Ⅰ Ⅱ Ⅱ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ → → → → → ← ← ← ← ← ←
  • TurboGrafx-16 version: Ⅱ Ⅰ Ⅰ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ → → → → → ← ← ← ← ← ←

A sound will confirm correct entry, and Opa-Opa will be invincible until the current round is cleared. It can be re-entered each subsequent round.
