This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.

C-bus (Cバス) is the retroactively given name to the first proprietary expansion board bus made by NEC for the PC-9800 series, the bus is a 100-pin 16-bit bus used to easily the connect the many types of expansion boards released for the PC-9800 series without opening up the models, this includes Sound boards, MIDI boards, Kanji ROM boards, Graphics boards etc. The bus was originally described simply as the Expansion slot bus (拡張スロットバス) in the documentation[1] as it was the only standard used for the PC-9800 series until the release of the 32-bit NESA bus, refered to also as the E-bus, which was followed by many propietary buses made for the PC-9821 series before it adapted the PCI bus.
