Arcade screen resolution

Perform a software reset (HOLD  RUN  SELECT ) 30 times. This will extend the screen resolution to simulate an arcade display, albeit with black borders.

Stage select

During the opening sequence, press HOLD  SELECT ↑ ↓ ↑ ↓ ↓ ↑ ↓ ↑ ↑ ↓ ↑ ↓ ↓ ↑ ↓ ↑. This will display the continue screen with a stage select after the opening finishes. Select a stage quickly, as there is a 10-second timer, after which the game will display "GAME OVER" and return to the title screen.
