Visual test tool and extra test mode

On the title screen, press ↑ Ⅰ  SELECT  Ⅱ ↓  RUN . This will display a test menu with two pages; the first page tests the game's cutscenes, while the second page features a sound test, level test and colour test.

Select any item/weapon

During gameplay, hold Ⅱ and pause the game, then release Ⅱ and press  SELECT  Ⅰ Ⅱ Ⅰ. A sound will confirm correct entry. Press Ⅰ to select an item, and Ⅱ to select a weapon.

Debug mode

During gameplay, hold Ⅱ and pause the game, then release Ⅱ and press ↑ → ↓ ← Ⅱ Ⅱ Ⅰ Ⅰ Ⅰ  SELECT . A sound will play and "PAUSE" will change to "DEBUG" to confirm correct entry. This will enable the following commands while the game is paused:

• Press  SELECT  to select a weapon.
• Press Ⅱ to select an item.
• Press ↑+Ⅰ to level up the weapon.
• Press ↓+Ⅰ to increase speed.
• Press ←+Ⅰ to increase the size of the health bar.
• Press →+Ⅰ to increase defense.
• Press  SELECT +Ⅰ to earn extra lives.

When unpaused, the following commands are available:

• Press  SELECT  to fully restore health.
• Press ↑+ SELECT  during a level to skip to the boss. Press again during a boss to skip to the next level.
