Meikyuu Jima Special (迷宮島SPECIAL) is an unreleased action game for the PC Engine. It is an adaptation of the 1988 arcade game Meikyuu Jima, which also received a Famicom port that was localised for the Nintendo Entertainment System as Kickle Cubicle.
The game was reported by Gekkan PC Engine to have over 100 levels, which is nearly double than the arcade version[2]. Development was reported to have finished alongside Legend of Hero Tonma[3] and was set for release in March 1991, however the game's release was suddenly postponed due to a sales-related problem[4], and was thus never released. Had it been released, it would have retailed for ¥6,091 (6,700)6700i[5].
