All of the button codes listed here require that the player alternates between pressing Ⅰ and Ⅱ with each input step. Rabio Lepus Special does not care which of the buttons is pressed so long as they are pressed a certain number of times and alternated accordingly. For example, HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x37 Ⅱ x3 Ⅰ x4 Ⅱ x3 Ⅰ x2 and HOLD SELECT Ⅱ x37 Ⅰ x3 Ⅱ x4 Ⅰ x3 Ⅱ x2 are both accepted by the game as the same cheat.

Sound test
On the title screen, press HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x4 Ⅱ x1 Ⅰ x2 Ⅱ x6. To use the sound test, press ↑ and ↓ to select a sound, Ⅰ to play the selected sound and Ⅱ to stop any playing sound.
Stage select
On the title screen, press HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x37 Ⅱ x3 Ⅰ x4 Ⅱ x3 Ⅰ x2. While still holding SELECT , press Ⅰ or Ⅱ to increment the stage number.
Expert mode
On the title screen, press HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x2 Ⅱ x2.
Start with 6 credits
On the title screen, press HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x1 Ⅱ x2 Ⅰ x3 Ⅱ x4.
Start with 5 lives
On the title screen, press HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x5 Ⅱ x1 Ⅰ x5 Ⅱ x1 Ⅰ x5 Ⅱ x1.
Start with 4 shield units
On the title screen, press HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x4 Ⅱ x3 Ⅰ x2 Ⅱ x1. This will start the game with 4 units on the shield gauge.
Start with 5 shield units
On the title screen, press HOLD SELECT Ⅰ x9 Ⅱ x8 Ⅰ x7 Ⅱ x6 Ⅰ x5 Ⅱ x4 Ⅰ x3 Ⅱ x2 Ⅰ x1. This will start the game with 5 units on the shield gauge.
