Legacy
Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman would be followed by two sequels on NEC systems: Kaizou Chounin Shubibinman 2: Aratanaru Teki for the PC Engine in 1991, and Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman 3: Ikai no Princess for CD-ROM² hardware in 1992. Another entry in the series, Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero, would be released for the Super Famicom's Satellaview add-on in 1997. Tasuke and Kyapiko would also appear in KickBall as playable characters.
Extreme rereleased the game on the Wii U Virtual Console 2015, exclusively in Japan. In May 2023, Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman would see a rerelease on the Nintendo Switch[3], PlayStation 4 and Xbox One courtesy of Ratalaika Games. This rerelease also includes an English translation, with its English title being Cyber Citizen Shockman, and was the first time the game was released internationally.
