Momotarou Katsugeki (桃太郎活劇) is a platformer spinoff of the Momotarou Densetsu RPG series. It retains the RPG features of being able to visit towns, buy equipment and items, and having to select items from a menu for things like healing.

Gameplay

jumps, attacks, and  RUN  pauses the game.

The game starts by letting the player select the difficulty. Unlike most games, it defaults to the hardest option, with the ones below being medium and easy. In easy mode, Momotarou doesn't die from pits, but rather takes a small amount of damage and gets launched out of them.
