NSFL content

A heads-up that hidden within the ROM data for Hisou Kihei X-Serd are lyrics for a very disturbing song about a Japanese serial killer who was also a necrophile and a pedophile, whose crimes had become widespread in media at the time of the game's release. While we've covered hidden NSFW content across the wikis (like Rings of Power and Wild Woody over at Sega Retro, and Cosmic Fantasy 3 here), this kind of content is much more vulgar and disturbing.

TCRF has a separate warning template dedicated to filth like that, and since we have an NSFW warning of our own perhaps we should have an NSFL warning too? No matter how vulgar it is, hidden content is hidden content at the end of the day. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 16:01, 23 January 2022 (EST)

I can't say I like the term "not safe for life" though, since it suggests the wiki has an opinion. In this case where Tsutomu Miyazaki was actually sentenced to death by the Japanese legal system, so idk.

Here's an horrendous sentence - if we have multiple levels of NSFW, NEC Retro will have to take a position on pedophilia. Japan's legal age of consent is 13, and some... less classy software reflects this. Do we judge old Japanese software by Western standards? I mean, they weren't designed with us in mind and again, not sure a wiki should be dictating what's right or wrong.

I feel like "Not Safe For Life" is kind of a meme. I don't want to feel like the moral police with things like that. However, I feel like NSFW should still be appropriate for things like this. JaxTH (talk) 22:57, 24 January 2022 (EST)
